Ananda

Ananda Pahto has been the first of the great Temples of Bagan.
The Mon architecture melts with North Indian influences and it reflects the transition period from the first to the middle period of the architecture of Bagan.
The Temple is situated just outside of the ancient walls that delimited the city. Heavily damaged by the 1975 earthquake, it has recently been restored.

The temple was completed during the kingdom of King King Kyanzittha (1084-1113).
