Nairobi.
In the garden of the house where we are leaving as guests, we are loading one of the two
rented 4WD. Our destination is the Lake Turkana in the Northern part of Kenya.
From Nairobi to Masai Mara
Masai Mara
The Masai Mara is without doubt one of the best and most
interesting African parks. The concentration of wildlife in the park is impressive and the
savannah alternates with the jungle.
The park is located near the border with Tanzania and is annexed to the Serengeti Park,
nevertheless the Masai Mara is very different from the Serengeti because of the vegetation
and the morphology of the territory.
In the picture our lodge on the shores of the Mara River.
From Masai Mara to Lake Baringo
Lake Baringo
The Lake Baringo is the heaven of the ornithologist. As a
matter of fact the lake is an important sighting place of aquatic and non-aquatic birds.
From Lake Baringo to Lake Turkana
Lake Turkana
Lake Turkana is the final destination of our trip.
The Turkanas and the El Molo live on the shores of the lake. The El Molo tribe counted, at
the time of our trip, just a few dozen subjects.
