Osaka

|
|
|
Osaka is a very ancient city; it was founded around 1400 years ago.
The emperor Kotoku moved, in 645, the capital from Asuka (Nara) to Osaka. He built the
Naniwanomiya Palace that today is considered the most ancient building in Japan.

Osaka was home to Expo' 70, since then the city has held different international events.
Osaka is a modern city where culture, art and history are mixed harmoniously. |
|
 |
Japan is a country full of contrasts. The tradition co-exists with modernity and the most
advanced technology.
In the picture to the left a small and quite traditional restaurant in Osaka. |
Osaka is at the same time a chaotic and frantic city. The subway at rush hour is extremely
crowded; the city centre is always crowded to any time.
The bright and multi-coloured neon insignias of shops and shopping mall are very attractive. |
