Chamborde Is the greatest of the Loire’s Castles. This luxurious Renaissance building is the
creation of King François I and it seems that was designed by Leonardo da Vinci.
The magnificent castle of Chambord is found on the stream Cosson, left tributary of the Loire,
it is surrounded by great woods: the Parc de Chambord and the Forêt de Boulogne. |

Chaumont dominates the Loire with its heavy profile that looks like a fortress rather then

The Castle of Bourdaisière has been built by King François I in the XV century.
The Castle is found in a park of 140 acres between Tours and Amboise. |

The Castle of Langeais is about 20 Kms from Usse.
It was built around 1460 as a defence fortress against invasions from Brittany.
Despite the external walls are those of a thick middle age fortress, the interiors are exquisite
Renaissance style.
The internal walls are decorated with Flemish carpets and the greater part of the furniture is
original.

Restigné is a small village 5 Km east of Bourgueil.
Worthy of notices the Romanesque church of Carolingian epoch devoted to St. Martin. The actual
Church has been reconstructed beginning from the XI century. The portal of the south facade
preserves some elements of Carolingian origin.
Restigné is also known for its wines (appellation Bourgueil).

Chartres is well known for his Cathedral, Notre-Dame de Chartres, one of the most beautiful gothic Cathedral in France.
Since 1979 it is listed as a World’s Heritage Site from UNESCO.
