Fuzhou (Europeanised Foochow or Fuchow) it is the capital of the Chinese province
of the Fujian and is located in the lower reaches of the Min River, just in front the Taiwan
Strait. The city takes its name from the Fu Mountain situated to the North.
Many banyans trees were planted in the Song Dynasty (960-1279), and the city is also called
Rong Cheng (Banyan City).
